Social Media is Kryptonite for Your Divorce

The best thing to do to avoid social media ruining your divorce or custody case is to simply stop using it. It’s so important to understand that once your case has begun, social media becomes evidence. While it may be tempting to delete your social media accounts, that could make matters worse. Deleting accounts is destruction of evidence which means your lawyer will be sanctioned, and there can be other negative effects to your case.

One thing you can be certain of: if you’re going through a divorce, your spouse and their lawyer are combing through your social media profiles and your entire internet presence. Protect yourself by not posting anything on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc., until your divorce is finalized.
